Ben Brooks had some issues and was stuck in limbo between a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini:

I work in an office, like a real office with older people, and I think that they view the iPad as a toy and not a work machine. I think they view the iPad as something for consumption, not creation. Who knows how they actually view it — this is how I think they view it. And that mattered more to me than I thought it would.

I do think a lot of people who have no iPad experience view it as a toy. They may even suspect an iPad in use at a meeting isn’t being used for real work, while a laptop open to Facebook, Twitter, games, or any other time-wasters is.
