This is a great story of family, creating a project for oneself, some home-built PCs, and a Sony Vaio. Also, it makes me feel even dumber when I (and many others) were arguing against the possibility of Intel Macs in 2005:

No one has ever reported that, for 18 months, Project Marklar existed only because a self-demoted engineer wanted his son Max to be able to live closer to Max’s grandparents.
