News: Apple Issues 10.6.8 Supplemental Update

by on July 25, 2011

Although the sun is starting to set on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard being Apple’s primary concern, the company released an update to fix a few issues, especially for users migrating to Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. Dubbed “Mac OS X 10.6.8 Supplemental Update”, it also includes some small fixes, presumably to make Snow Leopard as bug-free as possible.

The update is said to include the following:

The Mac OS X 10.6.8 Supplemental Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and resolves issues with:

  • Transferring personal data, settings, and compatible applications from a Mac running Mac OS X Snow Leopard to a new Mac running Mac OS X Lion
  • Certain network printers that pause print jobs immediately and fail to complete
  • System audio that stops working when using HDMI or optical audio out

Pick it up now via Software Update, or if you’re running 10.6.7 or below, there is a handy combo update that includes this and 10.6.8
