by on May 4, 2011

That didn’t take long to fix…after about two weeks since the location tracking controversy and a week after addressing it, Apple released iOS 4.3.3 for a number of iOS devices and 4.2.8 for the Verizon iPhone.

The fix is said to include the following:

This update contains changes to the iOS crowd-sourced location database cache including:

  • Reduces the size of the cache
  • No longer backs the cache up to iTunes
  • Deletes the cache entirely when Location Services is turned off

The update is 666MB and works on the following devices: iPhone 4 (GSM model), iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation), and iPod touch (3rd generation)
