News: iTunes Match Now Available

by on November 14, 2011

Although a bit delayed, Apple released iTunes 10.5.1, which includes iTunes Match. The service will match music on your iTunes library with that of the iTunes Music Store, allowing you to grab an Apple-sanctioned copy of any of your music on any iOS device or iTunes-equipped computer.

The service is $25/year, and is currently in beta form. Although libraries will be deleted (that is, songs uploaded from your device that aren’t in the iTunes Store) at the end of the beta, Apple is rewarding early adopters with three extra months for their subscription.

Currently, the service has a ten device limit, and 25,000 song limit (we suspect that’s songs that are uploaded).
