News: Apple Shuffles shuffle, Kills Xserve RAID

by on February 19, 2008

The iPod shuffle‘s price has been cut to $49 for the 1GB version, as there’s a new 2GB version for the prior $69. The 2GB version will be available later this month. Both are available in silver, blue, green, purple, and a PRODUCT (RED) special edition. At least Apple’s smallest iPod isn’t being ignored.

Also announced…wait…actually nobody said anything, but Macworld is reporting that Apple discontinued the Xserve RAID with the introduction of Xsan 2. Although for many this is not a big deal—there are other options out there—those who own Xserve RAIDs will still be able to buy the storage modules.

Pick one up while supplies last…
