Snippet: Amazon’s New Kindles ☇

Shared on September 6, 2012

In contrast to yesterday’s Nokia and Motorola events, Amazon did a great job of not only unveiling new products, redoing the pricing of existing products, and announcing shipping dates and prices. The biggest things to take away are the company keeping at what it does best (a cheaper and better basic Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite) and improving on its tablet offerings, a cheaper Kindle Fire ($159), a Kindle Fire HD ($199 7-inch, $299 8.9-inch), and a Kindle Fire HD 4G LTE ($499). Also surprising is a data plan will cost $50 a year for 250 megabytes/month. The whole thing was rather impressive looking at the company known for the iPod of books.
