Snippet: Australians Disagree Over 4G ☇

Shared on March 27, 2012

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) wants to file complaint against Apple for marketing the third-generation iPad with Wi-Fi + 4G. Apparently, since Australia’s networks are different, it’s “unfair” to consumers and somehow Apple’s fault:

The ACCC alleges that Apple’s recent promotion of the new “iPad with WiFi + 4G” is misleading because it represents to Australian consumers that the product “iPad with WiFi + 4G” can, with a SIM card, connect to a 4G mobile data network in Australia, when this is not the case.

Update: Now it looks like Apple will be offering refunds and changing the marketing materials.
