It was only May 26, 2010 that Microsoft was still ahead in that regard. Since then, Microsoft has gained around $35 billion in value. Apple has gained $430 billion.
May 26, 2010—that was just over a month after the original iPad started shipping, a couple of weeks before the iPhone 4 (only on AT&T) was introduced, the Apple TV was still a hot-running awkward device running OS X, and no Mac App Store. Simpler times indeed.
